Rainbow Six Siege's EU League 2020 just concluded its second week and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. EU League 2020 had some really interesting matches to watch this week. We finally got to see the two challenger league teams, Team Secret and Tempra, duke it out on Villa. Tempra proved during the match that they are here to stay with a 7-4 score against Team Secret.
Team Empire was in a pretty terrible slump last season, but they have started to right the ship. Team Empire's first day was amazing, but their second match against NaVi, was played terribly. The two teams clashed on Villa, which was a terrible pick for Team Empire, as they almost never played Villa. Unfortunately, Team Empire lost 4-7 to NaVi, even though Dmitry "Scyther" Semenov had 14 frags to help his team win a few rounds.
The most intense matchup from yesterday was BDS vs G2. These two teams are known to be frag heavy, with skilled individuals such as Juhani "Kantoraketti '' Toivonen, Jake "Virtue" Grannan, and Stéphane "Shaiiko" Lebleu. It was a really interesting match to watch as the top fraggers for BDS were Stéphane "Shaiiko" Lebleu and Loïc "BriD" Chongthep, who played support operators on attack. Even with G2 counter-strating BDS, they were unable to win all their gunfights against them.
Another impressive match to watch was VP vs Vitality, which took place on Coastline. The match mainly focused on the individual plays each team's fraggers made to impact certain rounds. Even though both teams didn’t show many strategies, it highlighted how well the teams countered each other. These plays ultimately weren’t enough for Vitality to stop VP as they lost the match 4-7.
