Rainbow Six Siege’s biggest event for 2021, the Six Invitational held in Paris, concluded its fifth and final playday in the lower brackets for playoffs. The single-elimination format meant that teams in the lower brackets will have to win to survive. All the matches are played in a best-of-three format, which makes it really competitive.
Match 1: Team SoloMid vs. Team Liquid
TSM was the final team to represent North America in the remaining games. If they lose this match, it would mean a full Latin American line-up in the finals. The first map was Kafe Dostoyevsky, which TSM was able to win without issues, with a 7-5 scoreline. The second game was quite close but Liquid closed the game in the final round with an 8-7 scoreline.
The final map was Chalet where Liquid dominated TSM for the victory. The former won the final map with a 7-3 scoreline that also knocked the last NA team.
Lower Bracket Final Match: Team Liquid vs. Made In Brazil
MIBR lost the upper bracket finals match against Ninjas In Pyjamas, which brought them down to the lower brackets for another chance. The first map was Kafe Dostoyevsky and it was a surprise from Liquid's side considering they lost the map versus TSM, as mentioned earlier. However, Liquid appeared to be familiar with the opponent that propelled them to win the first map with a 7-2 scoreline. Liquid was able to carry over their momentum from the first map and win the second map, Consulate, with a 7-2 scoreline. Luccas "Paluh" Molina of Team Liquid was crowned the MVP for his consistent performance. Paluh played to the max and gave his best despite knowing about the passing of his father.
The finalist of the Six Invitational will play in a best-of-five series with the upper brackets having a one map advantage.
