Ubisoft is finally starting to fix major flaws in Rainbow Six Siege. Rainbow Six Siege is going through one of its worst phases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with an ongoing crisis of hackers and bugs that make the game nearly unplayable. Ubisoft is trying to fix issues one step at a time, some of which are:
- Lobby Freezing
- DOS On Console
- Hacking/Cheating
Lobby Freezing
Some cheaters use the Lobby Freezing method to avoid losing ELO in their ranked matches. Basically, this method allows you to stop the lobby before the next round starts, which results in the match never loading in. There have been multiple cases of lobby freezing since the start of the pandemic and Ubisoft is starting to take action against the players who resort to using these methods. Ubisoft is monitoring the automatic kicks in the live server, and if multiple players report the cheaters, they will prioritize the ban faster.
DOS On Console
DOS attacks have been around since almost the start of Siege and Ubisoft has yet has to release a permanent fix for this. DOS attacks are much easier to do on consoles and this method is similar to lobby freezing, except DOS attacks will kick you out of the lobby, giving you an abandon sanction. Ubisoft still doesn’t have a fix for this issue and they are still investigating.
Hacking/Cheating
Hacking is one of the biggest issues in Siege. Ubisoft also doesn’t have a permanent fix to this issue. That said, Ubisoft is making some changes by introducing offline bans, increased clearance level requirements for Ranked, increased champion Rank requirements, and an XP level cap in PvE. Most of these changes are still in development and will be implemented within the next month, according to Ubisoft’s roadmap.
So, what are your thoughts on the new Rainbow Six Siege initiative? Did you experience any of these problems yourself? Are you having a bad time playing the game? Personally, I would suggest not playing ranked until the current pandemic is over. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
