Ubisoft dropped a new Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event trailer on Friday, which shared further details regarding what we can expect in the anticipated DLC. However, fans learned Ubisoft actually shared two different versions of the trailer. Check out the Ubisoft US and Ubisoft Russia trailers below:
Both trailers start identically. Tachanka, with his fearsome RP-46 machine gun perched on his shoulder, walks with an unmasked Thermite back to the operations tent where Ash debriefs them of the current situation at Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. However, the US version omitted a major scene in the trailer—a live feed from Doc reveals the mechanics behind the deadly infection, where parasitic spikes pierce from beneath the skin to take over the host body.
From past announcements that reveal a Soviet space capsule that fell into the town, we are aware of the extraterrestrial origins of these spiky infections. The Rainbow team aren't exactly trained to combat this unknown enemy, which is why Thermite suggests the idea of just nuking the town. "It wouldn't be the first time we used a nuke in New Mexico."
While the idea is on the table, Ash stresses nuclear detonation will be a last resort. Instead, the outfit will call in CBRN, the latest operators of Rainbow Six Siege, specially trained to deal with biohazard threats. French CBRN "Lion" and Russian CBRN "Finka" were first introduced in a Ubisoft blog earlier this month, but we finally get to know a little bit more about them in this trailer.
The reports on Ash's table reveals the French Olivier and Russian Lera. Based on the teasers last month, we now know Olivier "Lion" Flament will use a drone to maintain quarantine perimeters while Lera "Finka" Menikov will utilize self-dissolving nanobots.
The upcoming Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Events will offer three co-op levels that features specially-selected operators to respond to the infections. Lion and Finka are joined by Ash, Tachanka, Doc, Smoke, Buck, Ying, Kapkan, Glaz, and the Recruit.
The Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak event will take place between March 6 and April 3. Stay tuned for more details as a full announcement is expected during the Six Invitational Finals on Feb. 18 and 19. Be sure to catch the livestream on Twitch.
