After almost two weeks of the Rainbow Six Siege competition, the dust has finally settled. Standing tall among everyone and declared as the Six Invitational 2022 champion is TSM, bringing home a cool $1 million.
The victory is truly sweet for TSM considering that they always entered the top four of the past two Six Invitationals but never came out as the champion. They had placed fourth last Invitational and third before that. In addition, for the Six Invitational 2022, they had to go through the qualifiers to join the tournament.
The Road to the Grand Final
TSM's journey started a bit slow. They ended the Group Stage in third place. That meant they had to start in the Upper Bracket Round 1 of the Playoffs. They managed to sweep Ninjas in Pajamas. The team then moved to the next round where they beat Furia at 2-1. During the Upper Bracket Semi-Final, they were able to get the best of Team Liquid and ended at 2-0.
At the Upper Bracket Final, they couldn't get past Team Empire and promptly went to the Lower Bracket Final. Here, they met FaZe Clan and didn't have any problems getting the win. That meant a rematch against Empire in the Grand Final.
Grand Final
TSM started out strong and grabbed the first two games to get a 2-0 lead. In the third game, TSM was able to take the first round easily. However, there would be some back and forth the rest of the game. Eventually, Empire got the upper hand and with it the win.
In the fourth game, TSM knew that they had to close the series and dominated as they attacked. Empire managed to respond, resulting in the first round ending in a tie. The second round was so close that it eventually led to a double tiebreaker. TSM would find the break it needed to win the game and be declared the champion.
Along with the win, TSM member Matthew “Achieved” Solomon was named MVP.
