Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Y7S1 Operation Demon Veil will be available on the test server tomorrow. After a couple of weeks, it will go live on the main build of the game. The upcoming season is bringing a new operator, map, game mode, gameplay features, and much more.
Goyo Rework
Demon Veil will also bring the previously announced Goyo Rework. He won’t have access to his Volcán Shield anymore but will be replaced with Volcán Canisters. These canisters can be deployed on the ground or walls similar to Jager’s ADS.
These canisters won’t have the protection of the deployable shield, but they have a bulletproof casing that protects them from distinct angles. Players will have to use some strategy in deploying them, so attackers can't destroy them easily. The explosion damage and destruction caused by the Canister have been reduced as well.
Not everything is bad news for Goyo though. The fire caused by the Canister will last for 20 seconds instead of the previous 10 seconds. He will also have access to four canisters now rather than only two.
The developer wanted players to use Goyo for his area denial capabilities. However, he was being used for his shield instead. This will force the player to use Goyo as he was initially intended. He can be a great replacement for Smoke and Tachanka now.
Other Balancing Changes
Goyo isn’t the only operator getting some changes. The pre-season designer’s notes revealed that several operators are getting buffed or nerfed. We have mentioned all the changes below:
- Melusi is getting yet another nerf. Her gadget’s opening and closing times are reduced to 0.75 from the previous 2 seconds.
- Thunderbird’s Kona Stations will only heal players if their health is less than 100%.
- Kali received a small buff. The movement penalty caused by equipping CSRX 300 has been completely removed.
- Valkyrie and Zero will be able to equip their cam while they are in the air. However, the visual feed will only be shown when the camera is attached.
As mentioned above, the upcoming season will also bring a new defending operator. You can read more about it via our previous article. Information about the upcoming map, new game mode, and new features are mentioned over here.
