Rainbow Six Siege's North American Mini Major Stage 2 concluded its grand finals and the results are here. The NA Majors were on LAN, more exciting than other majors played online due to the pandemic. The North American Mini Major had some thrilling matches with the finals played in a best of five. We got to see several maps in play. It may teach you new strategies for your own games.
The match between Spacestation Gaming and Team SoloMid was the most hyped of the mini-major. The first map was Clubhouse - a defender-sided map with Thatcher and Maverick banned. Bryan "Merc" Wrzek from TSM had an impressive hold on CCTV the first round as Mute. TSM's scheme for the basement defense extended into CCTV and Bedroom. Merc was holding CCTV stairs solo, which SSG preyed on, by pushing him. But Merc outplayed them with his shotgun. That led to a quad kill against SSG. The second round was pretty close thanks to Javier "Thinkingnade" DeAndre from SSG. He fragged three opponents, though he was unable to get the final kill. This resulted in a TSM win. The first half ended with a 4-2 split in favor of TSM. It was a surprise considering Clubhouse was SSG’s best map.
TSM on attack got scarier with their aggressive playstyle that overwhelmed SSG. TSM took Clubhouse with a 7-5 scoreline. TSM players Merc and Beaulo from TSM delivered 13 and 12 kills, respectively.
The second map was Consulate - an attacker-sided map. TSM knew the map very well. Merc was insane on defense playing operators like Maestro and Vigil. He destroyed SSG on every step. TSM’s teamplay allowed them to win 5-1 on defense in Consulate. But neither team showed fresh strategies. The battle finally ended with guns blazing for the win. TSM took Consulate with a 7-2 scoreline.
