It seems that an Amazon listing might have leaked the release date for Red Dead Redemption Remaster. However, the interesting part of the leak is the claim that the remaster even exists in the first place. Given how successful Red Dead Redemption 2 was across all platforms, fans were actually hoping for Rockstar Games to remaster the original Red Dead Redemption, which was released 10 years ago.
So, naturally, fans have been circulating the leak across social media and boarding the hype train. However, some keen-eyed individuals have also spotted some errors in the leak.
The leak first appeared on Reddit, where a user explained how typing Red Dead Redemption Remaster in Google resulted in a December 10 release date, carrying a $49.99 price tag. However, clicking on the result redirected the user to a generic Amazon page.
Now, there are several reasons why the leak very likely is not true. First of all, the leak suggests that the Red Dead Redemption remaster will release on December 10, which is the same day as Cyberpunk 2077's release. And from a business point of view, Rockstar Games wouldn't want to clash a Red Dead launch with CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, which is a hot commodity lately. Secondly, Rockstar insider Yann2295 also suggested that the result is nothing but a false alarm. Third, Amazon has made similar mistakes in the past. So, fans are rightfully a bit skeptical about the leak.
Nonetheless, there have been several rumors hinting toward Red Dead Redemption Remaster being real. According to those rumors, the game will be developed on the RDR2 engine, and it will be available for PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5. It was also rumored that the Red Dead Redemption remaster is in the late stages of development, and work was going smoothly.
Red Dead Redemption is currently available on PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
