There's something different in Red Dead Online this week. Those who join free roam events will receive special bonuses and more. Whether you're a Bounty Hunter, Collector, or Trader, those who roam the frontier this week get 25% Character XP and Role XP boosts, especially when they take on any Role-specific Free Roam Events.
It's worth noting that Free Roam Events are going to be available to players that have managed to reach a certain rank for an associated role. Events include:
- Day of Reckoning
- 2-8 Players
- Requires Bounty Hunter Rank 4
- Fight against other Bounty Hunters in order to capture wanted targets and then return them for points.
- The more dangerous or difficult the targets are, the more points available.
- Manhunt
- 2-12 Players
- Requires Bounty Hunter Rank 4
- In this one, Bounty Hunters need to work together to catch wanted targets across a designated area.
- Be careful as many of these areas are defended by armed and dangerous henchmen.
- Trade Route
- 2-12 Players
- Requires Trader Rank 4
- Traders get to show off their defensive skills as those who take part in this need to safeguard a train laden with goods from attacking bandits.
- Condor Egg
- 2-12 Players
- Requires Collector Rank 4
- A rare and valuable Condor Egg has been spotted in the area. Find it before anyone else does.
- Salvage
- 2-12 Players
- Requires Collector Rank 4
- A wreck has scattered valuable collectibles across the designated area. it's time to find as many as you can. Be careful as enemy bandits are also in the area and is sure to attack in order to protect what they've found.
Bonus Role XP
Whether a rookie to Frontier Pursuits or already on the way to reaching Distinguished status, a total of 2,000 Role XP bonuses are available for each of the Specialist Roles. Each bonus is going to be awarded in two 1,000 XP installments through the Offers & Rewards section in the Red Dead Online pause menu.
The returning Legendary Bounty, for example, rewards players with 2,000 Bounty Hunter XP. Meanwhile those who manage to execute a Trade Sell Mission successfully anytime this week will receive 2,000 Trader XP. Collectors, on the other hand, can assemble the Gold Panners Dream Weekly Collection, which consists of Ojeda Rose Gold Bangle Bracelet, 1797 Gold Eagle, and Gold Pocket Watch. Players can sell the collection to Madam Nazar for 2,000 Collector XP. Finally, completing any Moonshiners Story Mission rewards 2,000 Moonshiner XP.
Free Aim Series
For this week, the Free Aim Series focuses on Last Stand. In this one, cold-blooded killers are pitted against each other in a free-for-all battle with the one left standing declared the winner. Last Stand can be played through the Featured Series and is available until January 20.

For this week, Red Dead Online is offering 30% off the price of any Rifle available through local Gunsmiths or the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue for all players. PlayStation Plus members get a bonus free colorway of the Leavitt Jacket.
For those who are preparing to start on any of the original three Frontier Pursuits, the Butcher Table, Bounty Hunter License and Collector's Bag are each discounted by 5 Gold Bars. However, the Collector's Bag remains free to players who connect their Social Club account with Twitch Prime. This is in addition to the Polished Copper Moonshine Still upgrade and the extra 10% discount on Rifles this week.
