Resident Evil Village is the next game in the long-running Resident Evil franchise. The hype for the game is monumental because of the success of its predecessor, Resident Evil 7, and also the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. RE: Village has suffered from countless leaks, and now you can add one more to it.
Biohazard Cast published a report two days ago where they claimed that RE: Village recently went through a playtest. The supposed playtest took place before the launch of RE3: Remake and showed off new characters, locations, and enemies.
The demo took place in a cave-like structure similar to that of RE7. The player took control of a female character that only had access to a lantern. She didn’t have any weapons and her only goal was to get out of the cave.
“According to our source, this test started in a very dark cave similar to the final caves of Resident Evil 7 and they were controlling a female character with a kerosene lantern. We are assuming this is the same younger female that can be seen in the Resident Evil Village reveal trailer as she is carrying a lantern,” the report said. “In this segment, the woman carried no weapons of any type and the objective was to escape the caves. Our source also indicated they were under the impression that she was very distressed and looking for something. They also heavily reiterated the fact of the caves being dark and mentioned they had to have a representative help them adjust the brightness several times.”
That’s not all. The report also claimed that the game ran incredibly smooth on a PlayStation 4 Pro. There were no performance issues or FPS drops, and gameplay felt silky smooth. This is surprising because Resident Evil Village is only confirmed for PC and next-gen consoles. A PS4 or Xbox One port hasn’t been announced.
