The Game Awards 2021 is only a couple of days away. The event will take place on December 9 at 8 p.m. EST. This year’s event will happen physically, but viewers can watch it online for free as well. The nominations for all 30 game awards are already live. You can vote for your favorite games by visiting the official site.
Total Games
Most people don’t watch The Game Awards for just the awards since they expect video game reveals. So, this year will be no different. The host, Geoff Keighley, has already confirmed that 40 to 50 games will be present in some form. He also confirmed that new game reveals are in the double digits, which means we can expect at least 10 new games.
Recent Rumor
A recent rumor claims to know about some of these games. A leak that first originated on 4chan has revealed 27 games to be present at the event. Keep in mind that this is just a rumor, so take this with a grain of salt.
Some of the titles feel like a no-brainer. Resident Evil 8 DLC and Cyberpunk 2077 DLC are both known in development. So, their reveals are quite possible. The Wolf Among Us 2 and Hellblade 2 were also announced years ago. We should expect both of these titles as well.
The rumor features some interesting games, including BioShock Sequel, which is confirmed to be in development, and Hollow Knight Silksong, announced a while ago.
The Last of Us Remaster (probably meant TLOU Remake) was also mentioned in the list. Previous leaks have confirmed the existence of the remake. It is supposedly being developed by Naughty Dog and will feature major improvements. However, like many fans, I am looking forward to the previously announced Faction mode.
Last year’s event was dominated by The Last of Us Part 2. We will love to see which game is taking the crown this year. I am personally hoping for It Takes Two, but what about you? Which game do you think deserves the Game of the Year award? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
