Rune Factory 5 is finally out and available on Nintendo Switch. This latest title introduces new gameplay features along with a colorful cast of characters. Players can get the game through physical or digital editions.
To celebrate the launch of the game, XSEED Games is hosting a special in-person event on March 26 at the Honey and Butter Macarons in Irvine. The macaron specialists are best known for their “kawaii” creations, so they will offer themed versions of the sweet treat inspired by the characters of the game. Those attending in-person or online have the chance to win giveaways.
In the game, players return to the fantasy world of Rune Factory and experience a grand adventure while at the same time living the life they want. The story begins in the sleepy border town of Rigbarth where mysterious events are happening and affecting the runes that hold the balance between nature and humanity.
Different Editions
As mentioned, there are two versions with the first one being the Physical Retail Editions. There are two versions here - the Standard Edition ($59.99) and the “Earthmate Edition” ($79.99). In addition to the base, the Earthmate Edition also includes, among others:
- A custom outer box with artwork from series illustrator Minako Iwasaki

The digital editions are available on the Nintendo eShop and offered as a standalone version ($59.99) or Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99).
