Hugh Jackman will reprisine his role as Wolverine for the (presumed) last time in the upcoming Logan, and it looks like he won’t be alone.
According to The Wrap, Ryan Reynolds has shot a scene for the film as Deadpool. The Wrap’s sources say the footage featuring Deadpool in Logan will most likely become a post-credits scene. The possibility of Logan and Deadpool interacting should have a lot of fans geeked.
Fox has declined to comment on the rumored Deadpool scene in Logan.
UPDATE: Both Ryan Reynolds and Logan director, James Mangold have come out on Twitter to deny the Deadpool scene report.
If this turns out to be true, this could be the catalyst for the revitalization of the X-Men cinematic universe. 20th Century Fox is reportedly looking to reboot the franchise.
In 2009, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman interacted in X-Men Origins: Wolverine , where Reynolds played Wade Wilson before becoming something that didn’t resemble Deadpool at all. Thankfully, Fox rectified the mistake by releasing 2016’s surprise hit Deadpool that fully planted the Merc with a Mouth in the X-Men movie universe.
In the leadup to Deadpool , Reynolds was lobbying for Hugh Jackman to appear as Wolverine in the film, but instead they had to settle for some clever appearances of Hugh Jackman via magazine covers.
Logan will release on March 3 with Deadpool 2 slated for a January 2018 release.
