It's only the first week of 2016 and we already have our first major game delay announcement. The Xbox One exclusive RPG Scalebound has just been announced to be getting pushed back to 2017. The reason is said that developer Platinum Games wants to make sure everything is as good as it can be.
This news comes by way of an announcement on the Platinum Games website. "In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017," the post reads. "This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned."
It sounds like the team is still hard at work on Scalebound. "Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together," the post mentions. "Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making."
If you are looking to know more about Scalebound, the delay means that more information will continue to drip out in the months ahead. Platinum has already confirmed that they will be releasing more information later this year, so expect at least one new trailer, as well as another appearance at this year's E3.
