The wait is finally over as Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster comes out on Steam. It’s available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
This version is actually already available in Japan but the release was limited to Switch and PS4.
The game is set in modern-day Tokyo and has players follow a high school student. What seems to start as a normal day has suddenly become an ethereal apocalypse called the Conception. As a result, Tokyo is now a region filled with demons. In the story, the main character has turned into a demi-fiend, a being with demonic powers but retained the heart of a human.
When the game was first released, it received mainly positive reviews with many citing the gameplay experience and challenging AI. For this version, players can expect:
- Remastered 3D models and backgrounds.
- Additional difficulty settings for players of all skill levels.
- Including an easier difficulty level MERCIFUL as free DLC.
- With suspend save, players can now save their progress whenever they need to.
- Players can now choose between Japanese and English voice options.
- An alternate branch featuring Raidou Kuzunoha from the Devil Summoner series.
The game is being offered at Steam for $49.99. There is also a Digital Deluxe Edition available at $69.99, and comes with:
