If you’ve been a-hankering for Shovel Knight DLC you just have to a-hanker a little bit longer. Yacht Club Games took to Twitter in the early a.m. to spread the news that Specter of Torment , the second of three campaign add-ons for Shovel Knight, is officially finished. Here’s the tweet:
The Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment release date is expected to be sometime in April, although nothing official has been announced. Well, not NOTHING official, we also learned that the Shovel Knight suite of games will be coming to the Nintendo Switch under the banner of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove . No release has been announced, but since it will be happening once the Switch is on the market it might hit all the platforms at the same time.
Based on the Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment trailer it seems like we’ll be getting more of the same from Yacht Club in this expansion. Which is, of course, great news. The Shovel Knight base game is fantastic, and Plague Knight upped the ante even more. There’s not much time before a price hike takes effect, too. Yacht Club announced an increase alongside the Switch news so it’s fair to assume the two could come hand-in-hand. But if you don’t own Shovel Knight yet then now’s the time to buy. Assuming you’re the kind of person who likes to play amazing metroidvania games with killer soundtracks and absolutely flawless difficulty curves and not, you know, a fool.
Are you a proud owner of Shovel Knight eagerly awaiting the update? Will you be jumping in before the price hike? Are you just super rich and don’t care about money and want to send some to the iDigi staff for Whiskey Wednesdays? Let us know in the comments!
