A few years ago, nobody would have believed that the Nintendo Switch could be capable of playing high-quality PC and console games. However, the impossible has been proven to be possible as the hybrid console has received many AAA games like The Witcher 3, Crysis Remastered, and now Sniper Elite 4 has also been announced. Sniper Elite 4 was originally released in 2017 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
The news comes directly from Sniper Elite's official Twitter account that posted a minute-long trailer for the Switch version of Sniper Elite 4. The game is scheduled to launch this Holiday season. Sniper Elite 4 was received warmly by fans when it launched three years ago, and the game was critically acclaimed for its perfected sniper playstyle and X-Ray vision.
The trailer kicks off with protagonist Karl Fairburne giving fans an overview of what to expect in Sniper Elite 4. Fairburne then heads off to liberate Italy from Nazi and fascist control. The trailer then quickly shows how players can take out enemies by planting explosives, traps, mines, and strategically taking out vehicles and boats from long distances using precise sniper shots. The video also gives a short glimpse at all the explorable areas within the game, including San Celini Island and Magazzeno Coastal Facility.
It seems that Sniper Elite 4 is a direct port to the Switch, without cutting out any content. The only thing that has been adjusted in the port is the visual fidelity. The game will have reduced visual quality including reduced texture resolution, geometry, and particle effects. Sniper Elite 4 isn't the only game in the series that has been ported the Switch. The hybrid console also has Sniper Elite 3: Ultimate Edition, which was greatly admired by Switch fans as well as reviewers.
Sniper Elite 4 is launching for Nintendo Switch this Holiday season, although an exact date has yet to be confirmed.
