Sonic Racing and ChuChu Rocket! Universe are headed for the Apple Arcade. The Apple Arcade officially launched on the App Store on September 19. The two games are both property of SEGA Games and have features SEGA is known for, like exciting multiplayer experiences combined with finely tuned gameplay.
SEGA of America Senior Vice-President for Mobile and Digital Strategy Mike Evans said in a press statement that SEGA is happy to partner with Apple, especially for the Apple Arcade's launch. He added that Apple Arcade "lifts the lid on innovation and has enabled some incredible new experiences for classic SEGA brands."
HARDlight Studio Director Neall Jones shared in the statement that working on these projects was a happy occasion for the whole studio. HARDlight is a SEGA of Europe studio based in the U.K. and is the studio behind both Sonic Racing and Chuchu Rocket. He went on to say that HARDlight is excited to "discover players’ reactions and take part in insane online battles. Sonic Racing will certainly please all players craving for a need for speed in a Sonic universe, while ChuChu Rocket! Universe will drive crazy a number of those who like Arcade Puzzles."
ChuChu Rocket! Universe
ChuChu Rocket! Universe serves as the sequel to ChuChu Rocket!. The game features space mice called Chuchus and space cats known as KapuKapus. While the sequel is indeed a new game, it continues to have the simple gameplay that made the first game the success that it was 20 years ago. Features of the sequel include:
- Players get to travel through 12 constellations and solve at least 100 mind-bending 3D puzzles
- A Puzzle Mode, Challenge Mode and even Boss Battle
- Join in a four-player quick match or get your friends to join you in a multiplayer battle
- Master each Constellation and collect all the Achievements
Sonic Racing
Inspired by the critically acclaimed Team Sonic Racing, Sonic Racing features AI-controlled team members along with new tracks and unlockable characters. The game has:
- 15 tracks split across five zones
- Build your ideal team from a pool of 15 characters from the Sonic universe
- Get the chance to use 15 spectacular power ups (Wisps) to beat rival teams and get ahead
- Online multiplayer comes with global matchmaking
- Have private races with friends
- Participate in events to get rewards
