It’s already been one hell of an Electronic Entertainment Expo, thanks to cornucopia of reveals and announcements from Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Microsoft and Ubisoft, but there’s still one more press conference to catch before the Pre-E3 festivities come to a close.
Call us optimists if you want but we’re expecting a big show from Sony. For starters, they’re the last show on the bill and the rest of the major players at this year’s E3 came out swinging. Hard. Bethesda’s surprise Quake Champions reveal seems to be soaking up the lion’s share of the attention but gamers around the globe weren’t exactly disappointed by the likes of Dishonored 2 or Mass Effect: Andromeda, much less the redesigned Xbox One or our first look at Ubisoft’s upcoming Star Trek VR game. And don’t even get us started on the news that Fallout 4 is coming to virtual reality in 2017. Just when people were ready to write off E3 (again) it looks like there are companies ready to prove the show is just as important as ever.
Now, it’s Sony’s turn to step up to the plate and we have high hopes for the company’s E3 Live presentation. Obviously, we’d expect to see some first-party titles being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, like Horizon Zero Dawn, but we’re also interested to see what sorts of partnerships the company is ready to announce this year. And it seems fair to assume PlayStation VR will play a major role in Sony’s E3 2016 presence. After all, the platform’s October debut is less than six months away and we have to assume Sony wants to come out of the gate a bit stronger HTC or Oculus’ first days on the market.
To see everything Sony is announcing this year, bookmark this page and return at 9 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, June 13 to catch the latest PlayStation Experience in its entirety.
