Following the recent gaming showcase from Sony, company is reportedly planning a full PlayStation Showcase event with the target timeline set for Summer 2025.
However, nothing has been set in stone as Sony is still deciding on whether to make it a full PlayStation Showcase or another State of Play.
Either way, there are speculations that it will feature a much-awaited game from Sony, which is other than "Marvel's Wolverine."
Sony's PlayStation Showcase Is Coming This Summer 2025: Insider
A known insider, Jeff Grubb, recently revealed in an episode of "Game Mess Decides" that there may be an upcoming PlayStation Showcase event from Sony. There are no exact timelines for this as of press time, but the speculated date is from as early as June or be set by as late as September.
Grubb also noted that Sony's internal team is still debating on what kind of showcase will be held, particularly if it will be another State of Play or a full PlayStation Showcase.
According to Grubb, despite Sony debating on what kind of event would be next in line, the company is leaning more towards holding a full Showcase.
'Marvel's Wolverine' May Be Featured in Next Sony Showcase
Grubb revealed (via ComicBook Gaming) that should a PlayStation Showcase take place this summer, there is a possibility that Sony will reveal more information about "Marvel's Wolverine."
Other subreddits discussing this PlayStation Showcase are inclined to believe that there will be a dedicated "Venom" spinoff game from Insomniac, following his appearance in "Marvel's Spider-Man 2."
What May Be Expected From 'Marvel's Wolverine'?
Four years ago, during a September fall PlayStation Showcase from Sony, the company unveiled a list of games coming to their console, with two of them from its partner developer, Insomniac Games. This featured the already-released "Marvel's Spider-Man 2," and the other is a new exploration of the famed X-Men with "Marvel's Wolverine."
The trailer shared by Insomniac and PlayStation was only a teaser, and it only showed Logan pulling out his claws before the screen turned black and showed its title card. However, as of press time, there is still no standalone trailer for the game.
That being said, it was previously revealed that the game would arrive by 2023, but almost two years have already passed and there are still no updates from PlayStation or Insomniac.
Significant details are still missing behind the game, particularly as the teaser only showed off Wolverine's arms and his adamantium claws, but it did not share anything about its story, gameplay, and more.
