The South Park: Stick Of Truth may be one of the best RPGs of all time. At today’s E3 Ubisoft panel, Matt Stone and Trey Parker went on stage to announce the sequel, South Park : The Fractured But Whole (read that out loud a few times.) Where Stick of Truth was about the boys playing fantasy, this time around they are superheroes.

The Coon and Friends, the South Park gang’s hero alter egos, have decided they want a billion-dollar movie franchise. Cartman and his “friends” decide it would be better to make their own franchises, to which they all shout “Civil War.” The trailer shows very little game footage, but it’s funny as hell.

Alongside the trailer we got to see an actual cutscene. We are introduced to the main character you play as, who has to have a tragic superhero backstory. I don’t want to ruin it for you, but let’s see it stays true to the raunchy South Park formula. It’s genuinely hilarious, very much reminiscent of the television show. Stone also mentioned in one of the missions you will have to guide a fish’s mother through heaven, riffing off the classic South Park line: “do you like fishsticks in your mouth?”

We also got a good look at the combat, which will be changing this time around. In SOT , players were stationary in combat. In Fractured But Whole , there’s a grid system that allows you to hide in cover, walk up to enemies for melee attacks and use character's abilities to knock enemies away or pull them towards you. Tweek can teleport from one spot to the next. Farting is also important in this game, you can use it to go back in time, maybe mix up who attacks first or to regain some health.

If you buy South Park: The Fractured But Whole you get a free copy of The Stick of Truth for your chosen gaming platform. The game launches on December 6.

There’s also PC principal, what more do you need to know?
