A developer at DICE has taken to Twitter to clarify some incorrect information regarding Star Wars Battlefront . Thursday, a leaked YouTube video led to reports Battlefront would be getting a new map in the latest update. The video has since been taken down and it looks like there will be no new maps for Battlefront users.
Oscar Carlen, the lighting lead for Star Wars Battlefront, has denied that a new map is coming to Star Wars Battlefront. When pressed for how he knows this information, Carlen responded by saying he was still working on finishing up the new maps. If they are still getting worked on, they definitely will not be included in any updates over the next 10 days.
In a way, Carlen did confirm there are new maps coming. This isn’t really a surprise, given DICE mentioned having plenty of post-launch content. Seeing as how DICE and EA have done a pretty terrible job of revealing what this content is, we at least have some proof now that things are actually getting made.
Carlen didn’t comment about the other items that were leaked by the EA Brazil YouTube video, so those very well could still be coming. These other items include new costumes for Luke and Leia. Other new content includes daily challenges, private matches and special community events.
So what do you think? Are you bummed there will be no new maps in the January update to Star Wars Battlefront? What else would you like to see get added in future updates? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
