A lot of video games have had Christmas-themed DLCs and events that let players celebrate the holidays in their own unique ways, including "Stellar Blade."
Developer Shift Up's Christmas-related content for "Stellar Blade" arrived on Dec. 17, 2024, and updated Xion with holiday scenery and also introduced Christmas costumes and a new minigame.
Stellar Blade Christmas DLC
This guide focuses on everything that you need to know about the Christmas-themed festivities for the popular action-adventure game. If you are eager to join the festivities yourself, look through what "Stellar Blade" is offering this Christmas season.
The game's technical director, DongKi Lee, said that the update brings a colorful Christmas to brighten Xion. It also transforms the once-cold city square into a cozy and festive space that features warm lights and decorations.
He added that players can hear the seasonal BGM "Dawn (Winter)" and "Take Me Away," which creates a relaxing atmosphere. These will no doubt enhance players' holiday relaxation by melting away their worries, according to the Video Games Chronicle.
One of the new things that were added to "Stellar Blade" is a new minigame that offers a nice little break from players' survival struggles. You can enjoy the gameplay and earn different rewards upon completion.
The game also introduces a new Santa Dress for Eve, an I'm No Santa costume for Adam, a Santa Girl hairstyle, and various accessories. The latter includes Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
What To Expect
The minigame that was added to "Stellar Blade" is where Eve can shoot down presents that hang from drones in order to unlock her new outfits and accessories.
The Christmas update also lets players switch the seasonal content and the Nier Automata DLC using a toggle in the settings, Newsweek said.
"Stellar Blade's" Christmas update follows up on its recently released Nier Automata DLC that introduced a variety of skins to the game. While a lot of people enjoyed the cosmetics, some argued they were too much fan service.
Some also said that the activities of that particular update were somewhat dull and inconsequential. Others instead said that the pack just showed a shallow understanding of Nier Automata as a whole.
But Shift Up seems to have turned things around with the Christmas-themed DLC, which is a perfect mix with "Stellar Blade" in just going mindless fun.
While there is not much to do during the holiday celebrations, there doesn't really need to be the minigame and cosmetics more than makeup for it, according to The Gamer.
