They’re back! Netflix dropped the Stranger Things Season 2 trailer during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic Con with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” as its theme song.
The trailer starts with Will, Mike, Dustin and Lucas playing Dragon’s Lair at an arcade. The group seems to be enjoying themselves, but Will is distracted by the snow outside. Will turns around to ask the guys if they see it too, only to find out he’s alone. Soon he’s transported back to the Upside Down. He sees red lightning storms and the dreaded demogorgon in the distance.
Looks like Will is stuck between reality and the Upside Down in Stranger Things Season 2. The show teased Will’s connection to the place at the end of the show’s first season. After Will returns home, there’s a scene in the bathroom where he starts throwing up what looks like leeches. Soon after he’s transported back to the Upside Down.
Poor Will, he’s suffered enough trauma. His nightmare definitely isn’t over. But there’s someone who might be able to help him out of it: Eleven. She’s definitely in the Upside Down, probably trying to figure out a way to keep the demogorgon from destroying the world. We know she’s alive at the end of the first season as well, since Detective Jim Hopper continues to bring her food and Eggos to a special box in the woods. Speaking of Eleven, actress Millie Bobby Brown opened up to the San Diego Comic Con panel crowd about the difficulties of portraying the character. Brown admitted she had a hard time portraying some of the more emotional scenes because she’s typically upbeat in her day-to-day life.
“It was obviously difficult, I had very few lines,” Brown said. ”I had to everything with my face which is very hard but it gets easier when you feel more comfortable with your character,” she added. “In the first two episodes I immediately fell in love with Eleven. The only thing that was hard was crying. I feel like I’m a happy person in real life. I need five minutes to get in the zone.”
Stranger Things Season 2 premieres Oct. 27 on Netflix.
