Starting March 4, trainers who access the Pokémon Bank on their Nintendo 3DS will get the three Regis, Regice, Regirock and Registeel. But these aren’t the usual Regi trio that you could catch in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the three legendary Pokémon come with their Hidden Abilities.
From March 4 to Oct. 31, players can get the Pokémon trio by selecting the Pokémon Link option from the menu screen of your Pokémon X , Pokémon Y , Pokémon Omega Ruby, or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire game. Once you've received the Pokémon in Pokémon Bank , select Pokémon Link and the three Pokémon will be sent to a Box in your game. The three Pokémon will be sent one at a time from Pokémon Bank . Note that you can receive these Pokémon only once per Pokémon Bank account, even if you have multiple copies of Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire .
And like the Johto starters from last year, the Regi Trio are at level 50 and come with their Hidden Abilities, which is rare for these three.
Regirock will come with the Sturdy ability allowing it to survive a one-hit KO when at full health. There’s plenty of use for this ability especially when the this special Regirock comes with the move, Explosion. Take a hit from a water or grass type attack, survive and use Explosion to take your opponent with you.
This special Regirock will also come with the attacks, Ice Punch, Hammer Arm and Stone Edge.
Regice comes with the Hidden Ability, Ice Body, which lets it regain health when it’s hailing. Good thing this Regice comes with Hail, Thunderbolt, Amnesia and Ice Beam.
Registeel has the Hidden Ability Light Metal, which decreases this Pokémon’s weight. This ability will come in handy when it uses moves like Low Kick and Grass Knot (which it can learn via a TM). The heavier the opposing Pokémon, the more damage those moves do.
The third of the legendary trio comes with the moves Iron Head, Rock Slide, Gravity and Iron Defense.
