The special 20th Anniversary Celebi Pokemon Company

The Pokémon Company is celebrating 20 years of the Pokémon series with a monthly distribution of some of the rarest ‘Mon in franchise history.

February saw the distribution of a level 100 Mew in various GameStops and other video game retailers across the world. With March approaching, The Pokémon Company is set to release another rare mythical Pokémon into the virtual wild. The March event Pokémon is Celebi.

Unlike Mew, trainers won’t have to visit GameStop or another retailer to get a scratch-off card for a distribution code. Celebi will be available via the Mystery Gift function within every Pokémon X and Y or ORAS games.

To download Celebi, you’ll need to boot up your game and go to the MYSTERY GIFT tab. Select RECEIVE GIFT and then GET VIA INTERNET. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be given your own special Celebi; just be sure you’re in a spot that has a good internet connection.

The Celebi event distribution in March runs from March 1 to March 24 so make sure you download your grass/psychic type Pokémon as soon as possible.

Celebi comes at level 100 with the ability Natural Cure. It will have the moves Confusion, Recover, Heal Bell and Safeguard.

Like Mew, Celebi can learn all sorts of TMs and HMs, so don’t be discouraged if these aren’t the ideal moves you want for your time traveling pixie Pokémon. Serebii has all the details regarding what moves Celebi can learn over on their page, here.

Every remaining month in 2016 will have a new Pokémon to get. Check out the full list over at the official Pokémon website, or look at the shortlist of all the Mythical Pokémon that are being distributed for the rest of the year.
