No one knows for certain what’s going to happen in Game of Thrones Season 6, but there are a few clues as to what may happen to the ladies of Westeros. Sansa will become a player in the “Game of Thrones,” Arya will continue her training, Cersei is out for blood, and Margaery’s life is in the hands of the High Sparrow. Below are iDigitalTimes’ best predictions as to what may happen in Game of Thrones Season 6. Sansa Stark
Sansa quickly turned from the most-hated character in the show to the one everyone’s rooting for in Game of Thrones Season 6. She began as a naive little girl used as a pawn. Robert Baratheon used her to join house Baratheon and Stark, Cersei Lannister used her to manipulate Ned Stark, Tywin Lannister used her to gain control of Winterfell, and Littlefinger used her for his own long game.
Now, it’s Sansa’s turn to enter the “Game of Thrones.” We’ve seen Sansa sporting the Stark sigil in what may be a battleground. So, what’s she up to this season? Well, it’s likely she’ll escape Ramsay Bolton in Winterfell. Ramsay would torture her if he does find and lock her in a cell until she gives birth to his heir. Actress Sophie Turner has hinted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly this season is about Sansa’s redemption, which wouldn’t be the case if she were the Bolton’s hostage.
“I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa,” Turner said . “It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”
Sansa has learned how to manipulate people from the best. Littlefinger and Cersei Lannister have been her unlikely mentors in a her horrible situation. She’s armed with the knowledge of machinations behind getting power and ready to get back what was taken from her.
Cersei Lannister
Cersei has lost her father, her eldest son and her only daughter. She will avenge her loved ones and won’t rest until she tastes the blood of her enemies. Granted, the situations Cersei has found herself in are due to her overestimating her own intelligence, but we digress. What she’ll likely do is use Ser Robert Strong a.k.a. Zombie Mountain to take down the High Sparrow by force. She’ll send Jaime Lannister off to take care of her enemies in the Riverlands while she kills people in King’s Landing. Cersei doesn’t care if people like her, and we love her for it.
Daenerys Targaryen
The Mother of Dragons will be in an uphill battle trying to get the Dothraki to join her cause. She’ll have to earn their respect as Khal Drogo is no longer around to defend. She’s “Queen of Nothing” now; the only way to take back the Iron Throne is to gain supporters. Will Daenerys gain supporters in Vaes Dothrak? Probably. Some of the Dothraki witness her walk into the fire and birth dragons; that’s a hard sight to scrub out of your mind. By the end of Game of Thrones Season 6, she will have her army and be on her way to march on King’s Landing. We wouldn’t be surprised if the final shot this season is of Daenerys’s followers preparing the ships for the invasion.
Margaery Tyrell
She’s probably the most likely to die this year. The death of Margaery would mean war in King’s Landing, which is the kind of chaos Daenerys would need to gain supporters. Daenerys would easily use the Tyrells and Lannisters as examples of corruption ruining the city.
However, there’s a second option for Margaery. She might use her time in the Sept of Baelor to become allies with the High Sparrow. Margaery is good at adapting to her situation. She knew Renly Baratheon slept with men, and was prepared to get her brother involved in their bedroom proclivities if it meant she’d get pregnant soon. Margaery knew Joffrey was a monster, but knew she would have to humor his evil ways if she wanted to be his Queen.
And then there’s Tommen; Margaery knew it wouldn’t take long to turn the momma’s boy to her side if she used her feminine wiles to seduce his mind first. There’s a chance Margaery talks her way out of her situation with the High Sparrow. Of course, this probably won’t happen until after the Tyrell army threatens violence against them. The High Sparrow believes Margaery is a part of the “few” and he’s a part of the “many,” but we don’t think he has as much power as he leads everyone to believe.
Arya Stark
Arya Stark’s storyline probably won’t go past what we already know from George R.R. Martin’s books. She’ll likely have to earn the trust and respect of the many-faced god again and deal with her punishment for most of the season. She’ll have time to sharpen her fighting skills, but it’s unlikely she’ll become one of the faceless men. She has too much pride in being Arya Stark and will not commit to anyone until she takes care of her kill list.
Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres April 24 at 9 p.m. exclusively on HBO.
