Titanfall 2 seems like it will be formally announced soon, based on the appearance of logos seen in GameStop stores.
The above picture was sent out by Twitter user @niallmaherFM. In it, we can see the shelves of a GameStop, with the top row being occupied by placeholder boxes. The art on the boxes is small, but you can clearly read “Titanfall 2” on them.
This certainly is exciting, but shouldn’t be major news to most. We already knew a sequel to Titanfall was in the works, that it would be coming to PS4 as well as Xbox One, and that it would be released in EA’s second financial half of 2016. This means we can expect to see the game some time between Sept. 2016 and March 2017. For Titanfall 2, expect a release closer to the end of that time frame than the beginning.
As for the game itself, we know Titanfall 2 will definitely feature a single-player campaign. This will feature an interesting story that is said to be a retelling of the American Civil War, but in space. There is also talk of creating a TV spinoff set in the game’s universe.
So when should we expect the curtain to finally be pulled back on Titanfall 2? Very soon. Seeing as how these boxes have been found in a GameStop, it’s possible Titanfall 2 could be the cover story for March’s issue of Game Informer.
We also have GDC coming up in a few weeks. The large gaming conference has been the host to big reveals in the past. It wouldn’t be out of line to see a trailer possibly drop during the week of the conference.
