Titanfall 2 has officially gone gold, according to Respawn Entertainment boss Vince Zampella:
When a game goes gold, that means development is over and the game’s ready for release. That means game discs for boxed editions can go into production, and expectant gamers can start ramping up the hype to a fever pitch. (But not too much. Don’t want to No Man’s Sky this one, right?)
Titanfall 2 producer Drew McCoy has confirmed that the game will not be receiving a huge day one patch, in part due to the success of the recent tech test.
“No game ever ships without tons of people putting in insane amounts of time and effort towards the end. Lots of people have already had some time “on call” (not in the office, but need to be able to come in and fix any show-stopper bugs if needed), but there’s a bunch of us that have been cranking nonstop to get the game on disc. End in sight, though! Prep for launch day is looking good, that tech test really helped get our backend services ready. No 10GB day one patch here _,” he wrote.
The Titanfall 2 team also released an exciting new trailer with plenty of mechs and combat. You can check out Titanfall 2’s single player cinematic trailer below:
