Update 2.0 for Total War: Warhammer III is now available and it is the biggest update for the game yet. That’s because this one features the highly anticipated Immortal Empires where players can use almost all of the content featured in the Warhammer series.
What Is It?
Immortal Empires in Total War: Warhammer III is a special game mode where players have access to most of the content available in the latest version of Warhammer, as well as in previous installments. Here’s just a brief rundown of what players can expect:
- Access up to 86 Legendary Lords from all three titles, many have undergone campaign tweaks and unit balancing changes to level the playing field with Warhammer III’s races.
- Be’Lakor is now a Legendary Lord with his own faction.
- Dedicated factions for Grombrindal, Helman Ghorst, Volkmar the Grim, Sigvald the Magnificent, and Kholek Suneater.
- New starting locations for 29 Legendary Lords.
- A new Sea Lanes feature, which allows you to move armies between distant lands and continents - from one side of the map to the other - without leapfrogging them all the way across the map.
- Corruption rework. Players will have new tools for spreading (or reducing) corruption through more active usage of their armies. Small amounts of natural reduction will also be available to uncorrupted factions.
Those who want to get the most out of Immortal Empires must read on. To unlock the content in this game mode, players must have all three Warhammer titles and their respective DLC packs on the same platform. For example, players who purchased Total War: Warhammer III on Steam must have the previous titles on Steam as well.
Now, players may notice that the Immortal Empires game mode has a “BETA” tag on it. Well, there’s a good explanation for this. According to the developers, porting and refining all of the assets from previous Warhammer games and putting them in a unified campaign requires a lot of work. So, it goes without saying that there are things that may need to be ironed out.
Since the new game mode is finally available, the developers will be looking into community feedback and may add new content and features to help it grow over time.
