Tyler1 'League of Legends' Ban: What Has He Been Doing Since?

Alright dudes, it’s been almost two weeks since League of Legends most infamous high-elo player, Tyler1, got banned . For those of you that have been out of the loop, Tyler1 was a Draven main who had been ruining high-elo games for years. He was mostly unknown until Discoheat , a YouTuber who makes videos about outlandish and crazy Twitch streamers, created a video about him. The video blew up, mostly because of a weird list Tyler1 kept in it with notes on high-elo players calling them “boosted.”

After the video, Tyler1’s Twitch stream reached new levels of popularity. He would regularly be one of the most watched League of Legends’ streamers; viewers would tune in to see what tirade or crazy troll he would attempt next. Toxic players who have received chat restrictions or permanent bans finally had someone who was on their side, spreading the word of how great it is to be an asshole.

Pro League of Legends players had been dealing with Tyler1’s antics for years and were not fond of the idea of his superstardom. Meteos , the ex and current jungler for Cloud 9, talked about “what (Tyler1) has been doing is not okay” and how Tyler’s fanatical viewers support his toxic antics. This set off an even bigger backlash in the League community, with people either taking Meteos’ or Tyler1’s side.

Eventually it all came to an end when Riot Socrates wrote a forum post, indefinitely banning Tyler1 from playing League of Legends. They didn’t just give him a permanent ban, which could be overturned, they permanently banned him from ever playing their game again. In a video, Tyler1 said he would still play League just off stream.

After League of Legends

Tyler1 has still been streaming on Twitch , just not playing the game everyone knows him for. He was playing Overwatch , getting permanently muted right at the start of his stream . He’s also been playing the survival- horror game Outlast giving his insane commentary on what he’s seeing. For the last few days he’s been coaching VODs of League play, critiquing people that feel they are good at Draven (most of the time he proves them wrong.)

As long as Twitch doesn’t kick him off the platform, R.I.P. Gross Gore , he will continue to stream and entertain his ravenous horde of fanboys. Twitch won’t make him a partner though; he will most likely never be able to get a subscriber button.

I don’t support toxicity, but we live in an age where people get to choose their entertainers. Tyler1 will continue to stream and grow, whether we like it or not.
