Ubisoft announced earlier today that it will be rebranding its Uplay app to the newly named Ubisoft Connect. Along with the Uplay app, Ubisoft also stated that its Ubisoft Club program will also get rebranded. The Ubisoft Club program offered community challenges, and completing these challenges rewarded players with unique items like in-game costumes, weapons, and bonus missions.
There's good news for fans who currently own some of these Ubisoft games with Ubisoft Club rewards. With the rebranding of the application, Ubisoft is also unlocking all Ubisoft Club rewards for all legacy Ubisoft games. The list of games that will receive this change includes Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Assassin's Creed Origins, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, and Far Cry Primal. The upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Far Cry 6 will be the first games that will be under Ubisoft Connect.
According to Ubisoft, Ubisoft Connect will streamline both Uplay and Ubisoft Club rewards into one seamless process. However, for this new feature to work flawlessly, Ubisoft will have to let go of some of the previous games that were designed to work with the older versions of Uplay and the Ubisoft Club program. Ubisoft Connect will help players in various ways, including easy save transfers between different platforms among others.
Ubisoft Connect will be available on October 29 with the launch of Watch Dogs: Legion. Ubisoft has also stated a number of previous titles including For Honor, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Hyper Scape, Steep, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege will be transitioning to the new program.
In other news, Microsoft also recently announced that Rainbow Six Siege will be a part of Xbox Game Pass, starting from October 22. In addition to that, Xbox Game Pass users will also be able to purchase DLCs at a discount.
