The drama pitting AMC against former The Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont continues with a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Darabont has officially filed the suit against AMC asking for more than $280 million in damages. Darabont claims AMC “robbed” him of profits when they fired him in the middle of The Walking Dead Season 2 production. He claims they didn’t negotiate enough money for licensing the show to a network affiliate.

AMC released the following statement to THR regarding the lawsuit: "Plaintiffs' damages claim has no basis in reality and we will continue to vigorously defend against this lawsuit."

Back in February, a court accepted Darabont’s motion to amend his original lawsuit and ask for more money. THR also claimed parts of Darabont’s contract might not favor AMC at this point. Darabont is also seeking payment for the second half of The Walking Dead Season 2, which AMC claims he’s not entitled to as he was not a “full-time” employee at the time.

Darabont might have a big payday in his near future because of the show he helped launch on AMC. The Walking Dead ’s seventh season premiere will air Oct. 23.
