Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics have announced a new series by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Lorenzo De Felici, titled Oblivion Song. The comic follows the story of Nathan Cole, who travels into another dimension in hopes of finding his brother and saving lives.
Oblivion Song takes place ten years after the Transference hit Philadelphia. No one really knows how or why the Transference occurred, but the event caused a 30-mile section of Philly to be transported into another dimension. This dimension is called Oblivion and 300,000 people were lost in the process. The government did everything they could to save the people of Philly, funding projects dedicated to rescue efforts.
But the world moved on. Fewer people came back from Oblivion over time, which led the government to cut funding for rescue efforts. The world moves past the tragedy, but Nathan refuses to give up. He dedicates his life to finding people in Oblivion. He travels between dimensions in hopes of also finding his brother, Ed.
Though things aren’t what they seem. The more time Nathan spends in Oblivion, the more obsessed he becomes. He refuses to harm the creatures of Oblivion if he doesn’t need to. Skybound and Image have released artwork and a few pages from the first issue in Oblivion Song. Check out the artwork and the trailer below. The first issue debuts March 7, 2018.
