We know someone’s going to die in The Walking Dead Season 7, but the cast won’t stop playing the “Will I? Won’t I?” game when it comes to their character’s survival. The latest contestant, Ross Marquand, teased during an interview with ComicBook.com what his character Aaron might feel after the Negan encounter .
If Aaron makes it out alive, of course.
"I think so many people put their faith and their trust in Rick and his ability to lead both his group and the Alexandrians through a place of prosperity and peace and certainly, with where we're at now, all of that is now called into question,” Marquand told ComicBook.com. “For Aaron specifically, he's supremely worried now whether it's Rick at the helm or himself or someone else in Alexandria, now that Negan's group knows about them, is his community safe?"
Before meeting Negan , Aaron was already struggling with guilt over the Wolves attack. Aaron lost a bag of photographs he’d taken of Alexandria, which was picked up by a member of the Wolves and used as intel for the attack. Aaron has been with Alexandria since the beginning and his first priority is to protect his boyfriend Eric and the rest of the community.
Aaron might not be on Rick’s side if he escapes the wrath of Lucille. If Aaron turns against Rick, the other members of Alexandria will follow. After all, their community was peaceful before Rick’s group came along. However, if it weren’t for Rick, a community like the Wolves would’ve attacked Alexandria sooner than later.
Whatever happens, Rick will have a lot of damage control to do before he can even think about taking out Negan once and for all. We believe Rick will pull through; there’s that little bit of Shane in him that comes out when he’s at his worst.
