Didn’t take long for The Walking Dead fans to try and make Season 7’s storylines come full circle with just one photo.
[WARNING: The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers ahead. Turn back if you don’t want to know what might happen.]
Have no clue what we’re talking about? Well, let us break it down for you. AMC released a new The Walking Dead Season 7 photo of Rick, in which he appears to be meeting with a new group in a junkyard. No one knows who the new group is. There’s not any moments like this in the comic books, so it looks like this group is exclusive to the show. We call them the Junkyard Kids for the time being.
Anyway, there’s one person with their back to the camera who Rick is staring down. The internet (a.k.a. random people on Twitter) believe this person is Dwight.
Now, we don’t believe this one. There’s no way Negan isn’t monitoring Dwight’s every move out of sheer pleasure. Negan enjoys torching Dwight, reminding him that he’s now married to the love of his life. How Dwight would be able to rally some people to meet with Rick without it getting back to Negan is beyond us. It’s just too risky of a move.
Think about. If Dwight is missing at a certain time, Negan will be informed and he’ll have to account for his whereabouts. Dwight leaves the compound for specific reasons; Negan doesn’t allow people to come and go as they please.
Also, we hope The Walking Dead stays true to Dwight’s storyline in the comics. Dwight does become a key player in the All Out War storyline and does some have some excellent moments at The Kingdom. We won’t go too deep into spoilers, but Dwight has a lot of influence in the war to come.
But who could this Junkyard Kids be? We saw a mysterious figure watching over Rick and Aaron as they got supplies from the boat during the midseason finale. What if these people are Negan sympathisers? Or worse, what if they don’t like Negan, Rick or any other community out there.
Do you think these Junkyard Kids are with Dwight? Leave us your theories in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 returns to Feb. 12 on AMC.
