In all the chaos from The Walking Dead Season 6 finale, we completely forgot about Maggie’s pregnancy. Negan might use Lucille on one of Rick’s crew, but what if Maggie dies before she can get the medical attention she needs?
Lauren Cohan has stayed quiet about The Walking Dead Season 7 until now. Cohan explained to ComicBook.com that despite Negan’s flaws he’s a really good judge of character, which makes him dangerous. Negan preys on people’s weaknesses ; if he can’t identify what makes someone vulnerable, that person is of no use to him.
"Little did we know Negan is this complete sadist that takes so much pleasure out of inflicting such great pain on people,” Cohan said. “To me, Negan feels like this horrible undercurrent that’s been there the whole time that we haven’t realized, and now it’s rearing its head from every doorway you can imagine. It’s like how bulls have little flocks of birds that live on their backs. We’ve been there not knowing we were all sleeping on this giant scary bull. We are upended.”
Negan can see Maggie is visibly weak. What if Negan kills Maggie? Or worse, what if Negan takes Maggie as his prisoner to really twist the knife? Both scenarios seem unlikely since Negan has a strong moral code when it comes to the way he and the rest of the Saviors treat women, but he does take female prisoners in the comics .
Still, Maggie’s life is in danger no matter what happens in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. She’s pregnant with no access to a hospital. There is a “doctor” at the Hilltop community, but Maggie is already experiencing complications early in her pregnancy. It’s possible Maggie might not make it, even though she does pull through in the comic books.
