The latest teaser for The Walking Dead Season 7 shows fans exactly why Negan earned the title of villain.
The leader of the Saviors is always several steps ahead. There’s no better example of Negan’s intelligence than in the latest clip for the show’s midseason return. In the teaser, we see the group encounter a roadblock. It appears the Saviors strategically planted cars to block a section of the highway.
No big deal, right? Just remove the cars and keep moving forward. Well, things aren’t that simple.
Michonne takes it upon herself to scout the area using binoculars as the group moves the cars. Her face drops and she call Rick over to look at something. On the other side of the roadblock is a tripwire. Even if Rick’s group moved all the cars, there’s no avoiding the wire. One wrong move and everyone blows up.
If Rick wants to fight Negan, he’ll need to start thinking like him. The only person in the group who had a chance of disarming the trip wire was Eugene. Where’s Eugene, you might ask? WITH NEGAN. And rumor has it Eugene might not want to be saved.
Oh yes, not everyone in Alexandria is loyal to Rick. Why should Eugene stay? No one likes him. His only friend was Abraham, and he’s dead. Rosita is constantly telling Eugene he’s a coward and can’t fight. Well, the jokes on you, Rosita. Eugene’s brain is what helped him survive the apocalypse. You need people like Eugene to help rebuild.
Hopefully, Eugene will make it back to Alexandria. He’s the only comedic relief we have left now that Abraham is gone. He’s also Rick’s only hope for making weapons other than guns. They’re past the infinite ammo cheat at this point in the show. They need to get creative with their arsenal.
