Ubisoft has officially revealed Watch Dogs 2, according to The Country Caller, who was in attendance at an AMD event during this year’s Game Developers Conference.
According to The Country Caller, Watch Dogs 2 was both announced and confirmed to utilize DirectX 12. Seeing as how it was at an AMD event, it makes sense that Watch Dogs 2 will also feature special enhancements for AMD graphics cards.
No other information was revealed about Watch Dogs 2 at the event. It’s probably safe to assume the game will be open-world like the original Watch Dogs and will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Gamers can likely expect a full reveal by this year’s E3 in June.
So when will we actually get to play Watch Dogs 2? Probably sooner than you are expecting. Rumors about the game have swirled for years, and we all know that Ubisoft loves making sequels of its games. There have also been plenty of crossover Easter Eggs between Watch Dogs and the Assassin’s Creed series to show Ubisoft has a bigger plan for this universe.
Seeing as how Ubisoft will not be releasing a new Assassin’s Creed game this year, we could be seeing Watch Dogs 2 releasing by the end of 2016.
