In case you didn't know, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth came out a few days back. Like with most RPGs, one key feature is on combat and in the game, it has what's known as a Job System. It's way for members of the party to switch up stats, skills, and even weapons. A good way to describe it is that it's pretty much similar to classes in other RPGs. However, the way it works in the game is much more fluid.
The reason for this is that you get to change jobs. Which means you can come up with different strategies. Now before you get too excited, you won't be able to switch jobs at the start of the game. You can only unlock the Job System once you to Chapter 6. After that you'll have to meet certain conditions to unlock each available job.
Today we'll go through some of the character-exclusive jobs. These are:
- Hero (Ichiban Kasuga)
- The Hero offers a versatile battle style where you get to wield a bat and release different offensive techniques. In addition, you can also heal allies and even boost their abilities.
- Cabbie (Eric Tomizawa)
- The Cabbie can manipulate electricity and water. This job allows you to make use of special techniques to take advantage of enemy weaknesses while also infecting them with debuffs.
- Heiress (Chitose Fujinomiya)
- The Heiress is all about manipulating enemies. You can use speed to your benefit to outmaneuver opponents and even change the flow of combat. This job has skills which can lower not only the Attack of enemies but also their Agility.
- Homeless Guy (Yu Nanba)
- This job has a battle style which uses canes and umbrellas to release a wide range of techniques that make it seem as if enemies are fighting a magician. The Homeless Guy is able to manipulate fire and can even use pigeons for an AoE attack.
- Detective (Koichi Adachi)
- The Detective is a well-round round job that is good in both offense and defense. Not only can you serve as the shield but can even break through the enemy's guard.
- Barmaid (Saeko Mukoda)
- The Barmaid has a battle style which weakens opponents by inflicting status ailments like Cold and Blind, to name a few. This is a good job when you expect the battle to last long.
- Assassin (Seonhee)
- As the job name implies, it's all about a quick kill. By using projectiles and whips, the Assassin can render opponents immobile.
- Hitman (Joongi Han)
- The Hitman has a battle style that can use fast and one-strike assassination techniques and with the high agility, lets you take the initiative during fights. This job can help immobilize opponents and also deliver critical strikes from behind.
- Mafia (Tianyo Zhao)
- This is a well-balanced job which can increase attack while at the same time weaken the opponent.
Next time we'll a look at the other jobs. Which one do you like so far?
