A new trailer for We Happy Few is out this week, alongside the first Early Access build of Compulsion Games’ new survival horror project, but it doesn’t tell us much about the game that we didn’t already know. On the plus side, it does include a few minutes of new gameplay footage. And We Happy Few is looking better than ever.
The latest trailer from Compulsion Games offers early looks at a variety of environments we’ll see in We Happy Few. We also get to see more of the tools that will be at the player’s disposal when it comes time to protect themselves from the other residents of Wellington Wells. And that’s just the start. Our latest look at We Happy Few includes new traps, brawls between guards, residents and unmedicated citizens, along with plenty of shots contrasting the lives of people still taking Joy to those who’ve abandoned the psychoactive drug.
For those considering a purchase, it’s important to remember that We Happy Few is still in early access. The game may be in much better shape than the average addition to the developmental section of Steam but it’s still far from feature complete. Compulsion says the current build of We Happy Few doesn’t include any player stories, other than the introduction shown at E3 2016, and players will apparently have to wait until the game’s official launch to experience them. For now, We Happy Few will be limited to the procedurally generated portions of the game, which will grow and change throughout the year.
For a closer look at We Happy Few, take a few minutes to watch the gameplay trailer published on Tuesday morning. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to buy the survival horror game in Early Access or wait for the official launch of We Happy Few.
We Happy Few is now in Early Access. The game is available on GOG, Steam and Xbox Live, with an official launch expected sometime in 2017.
