It’s Xur day, Destiny fans!
This week, Xur can be found standing in Tower Hangar
Millions of gamers are still sleeping off the excess tryptophan from Turkey Day 2016. Parents are preparing for a long day of Christmas shopping. And there might be a few players who’ve been gaming all night, burning the midnight oil to get a bit more time with their Steam Autumn Sale and/or early Black Friday purchases. But the excitement that accompanies those events pales in comparison to the attention lavished on Xur each and every Friday morning. And we can only assume this weekend will be no different; particularly for those still invested enough in Destiny to be playing the game on a daily/weekly basis. The only question is whether or not Xur will host a Black Friday sale of his own, with popular and/or heavily-discounted exotic equipment available for purchase, or if we can expect more of the mediocrity we’ve seen in recent weeks.
Last week, the Agent of the Nine returned to the Reef with a collection of exotic equipment that hasn’t been able to inspire much excitement in months. Year Three versions of Eternal Warrior or Knucklehead Radar or Impossible Machines are certainly upgrades for those still struggling to get raid-ready. But none of that gear will generate much excitement among Destiny’s biggest fans anymore. Not even a new opportunity to buy Suros Regime. All we can do is hope that the holidays are enough to convince Xur to bring some top-tier gear to the Tower this weekend.

Legacy Engram - Helmet
As always, Xur has plenty of other goodies for Destiny players to spend their Strange Coins, too. In addition to the exotic wares, the Agent of the Nine is also selling a handful of other curios, including Three of Coins stacks. And Destiny players will also find the usual legendary Sparrows upgrades, with green and red contrails available this week, along with Motes of Light, Heavy Ammo Synthesis and Glass Needles.
Xur is also selling weapon ornaments this weekend. Players have two options:
- Prototype - Changes the appearance of Truth
- Iconoclast - Changes the appearance of Invective
