Xur is back, Destiny fans!
This week, Xur can be found in Tower North, across from the Speaker's Observatory
It’s been a big week for the Destiny community, particularly those beginning to wonder if/when Bungie planned to release new content for the shared-world shooter. It’s been months since we got access to Destiny’s latest raid, Wrath of the Machine, and even longer since Destiny: Rise of Iron hit PS4 and Xbox One. And without any new content on the horizon, some were beginning to wonder if Bungie would give us anything else to be excited about before the next big Destiny release. Fortunately, the studio responded with word of a new patch, the arrival of which also marks the beginning of Destiny’s 2016 holiday event, and confirmation that Vicarious Visions is helping out with the long-awaited Destiny sequel. Now we get to cap that week off with another visit from Xur that we can only hope will prove to be more exciting than his last few trips.
Last week, the Agent of the Nine continued his recent streak of disappointing visits to the Tower, showing up with a collection of items that most Destiny players almost certainly already have in their collections. We can accept that there might still be a handful of Destiny players who don’t have all the game’s exotic equipment yet, despite two and a half years of weekly appearances from Xur. But we don’t know who could muster any serious excitement for the endless string of appearances we can expect apparently expect the Voidfang Vestments to make between the launch of Destiny and the inevitable day (far in the future) when it’s servers are taken offline. Until then, all we can do is hope the Agent of the Nine’s shows up with a selection of exotic items we haven’t seen 100 times since the Destiny debuted back in 2014.

As always, Xur has plenty of other goodies for Destiny players to spend their Strange Coins, too. In addition to the exotic wares, the Agent of the Nine is also selling a handful of other curios, including Three of Coins stacks. And Destiny players will also find the usual legendary Sparrows upgrades, with green and blue contrails available this week, along with Motes of Light, Heavy Ammo Synthesis and Glass Needles.
Xur is also selling weapon ornaments this weekend. Players have two options:
- Not A Toy - Changes the appearance of Zhalo Supercell
- Crucible Assassin - Changes the appearance of Trespasser
