With only a week until release, the Xbox Series X has begun to show off its incredible performance. Ahead of the console's launch, Microsoft sent out the next-gen console to various content creators and online press, and people have been trying out several older-gen games on the new console. After all the tests, it has become evident that the Xbox Series X packs a blazing fast SSD.

A YouTuber going by the name of Rubhen925 posted a gameplay video for The Witcher 3 on the Xbox Series X. In the footage, Rubhen925 used the game's fast travel feature, and interestingly, the fast travel was so fast that it even skipped the loading screen. In the current-gen version of The Witcher 3, fast traveling between locations takes about 30 seconds on the Xbox One, and seeing the blazing fast speed of the new console is truly a sign of massive improvement.

This leap in performance has led many gamers to question what kind of SSD the Xbox Series X is using. What's more interesting about the footage is that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not even an Xbox Series X-optimized game, which has further led fans to wonder about the performance of optimized titles.

In related news, developer CD Projekt Red also recently announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be receiving a free next-gen upgrade, featuring new graphical technologies like higher-resolution textures and ray-tracing features. It'll be interesting to see if the new port will also feature similar load times or not. However, the developer hasn't provided a release date for the new port. It's likely that the next-gen port will arrive only after the launch of the again-delayed Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also be receiving a next-gen upgrade for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
