The first details on WWE 2K17 were finally released on Monday night, including a rough timeline for the game’s debut, and the first confirmed pre-order bonus for WWE 2K17 should be enough to excite wrestling fans who used to be a fan of World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

The first trailer for WWE 2K17 debuted on Monday night, during World Wrestling Entertainment’s latest episode of Monday Night Raw. Though entirely devoid of gameplay footage, as is typically the case with early promotional clips for new WWE games, the first trailer for WWE 2K17 does confirm the first member of what could very well be the most star-studded roster of any WWE title to date. And anyone who grew up watching professional wrestling during the 90’s should recognize the first name on the WWE 2K17 roster:

Goldberg.

If you weren’t watching wrestling during the Monday Night Wars, Goldberg was one of the most dominant forces in the history of World Championship Wrestling. The former Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle made a dominant run in WCW, going undefeated for more than a year, before eventually making the jump to WWE and joining Brock Lesnar in one of the worst WrestleMania matches of all time. Now, Goldberg is making his return to the digital squared-circle and he’ll even have some familiar turf to fight on.

Here’s the full list of pre-order goodies being included with WWE 2K17:

  • PLAYABLE WCW GOLDBERG WITH BLACK TIGHTS

  • PLAYABLE WWE GOLDBERG WITH BLACK AND WHITE SHORTS

  • TWO PLAYABLE ARENAS: WCW MONDAY NITRO AND HALLOWEEN HAVOC

Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get our first look at gameplay footage from WWE 2K17. In the interim, take a couple of minutes to watch the trailer announcing this year’s Goldberg pre-order offer, then head down to the comments section and let us know who else you'd like to see in WWE 2K17 at launch.

WWE 2K17 is being developed for PS4 and Xbox One. The game debuts this October.
