The first screenshots of WWE 2K17 were published on Tuesday morning, alongside the latest set of names from the game’s growing roster, reviving the annual debate over whether 2K and its development partners made enough improvements to the WWE 2K game engine.
Spoilers: The first batch of images from WWE 2K17 probably won’t make believers out of anyone unimpressed by the visuals in 2K16 . At least not if the first round of screenshots are any indicator.
As usual, the first collection of WWE 2K17 screens were sent to IGN. But, in a bit of a twist, the images actually surfaced over at The Smackdown Hotel a few hours before IGN began its annual WWE 2K roster announcement series. This week, we get a look at Brock Lesnar, Brie Bella, Chris Jericho, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Nikki Bella. All of the performers in this week’s images were eventually confirmed by IGN, so there aren’t any surprises in the gallery, but they do offer fans an early idea of what to expect (visually) from WWE 2K17 when it heads to stores this fall.

WWE 2K17 is in development for PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game debuts Oct. 11.
