Xbox Game Pass kicked this year off by adding Grand Theft Auto 5 to consoles. Now, the team behind the subscription service has revealed the next games that are coming to Xbox Game Pass on consoles.
First, Frostpunk: Console Edition will be available to play on January 9. Frostpunk was announced back in 2016 and went on to become a hit game on Steam. Frostpunk blends city building mechanics with a grim, dystopian future. The game was a critical success, as well as a commercial one, and works quite well with a controller thanks to its radial design.
The second game coming to Xbox Game Pass is Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. Sword Art Online is a third-person shooter action-RPG game that was released in February of last year. The game is based on the anime of the same name. The plot of Sword Art Online takes place inside a fictional game called Gun Sale Online. The game is a successor to Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization.
The third game is popular fighter game Tekken 7. You can access the game starting on January 16. Tekken 7 was released in 2017 and has gathered a lot of critical acclaim for being a fluid fighter.
If you're new to Xbox Game Pass, it is a subscription service similar to Netflix. This means that games that appear on Xbox Game Pass don't stay forever, but can be played for as long as you want while available. Leaving this month are Just Cause 3 and Lego City Undercover. However, as a member of the subscription plan, you can get a 20% discount on both of those games in case you choose to purchase them.
Finally, if you don't already know, GTA 5 is available on Xbox Game Pass right now, and if you haven't played the game, you should definitely give it a shot.
