Several Xbox One system updates were announced by Microsoft today. These updates are coming to Xbox One and the Xbox Beta App this month, reports the Xbox News website. The updates to the Xbox One should be coming to preview members as early as today.
The key changes to Xbox One starting today include:
- Seeing who’s in a Party - When you see your friend in a party, click the “chat” button under your friend to see who he or she is in a party with
- Gamerscore Leaderboard - A Gamerscore leaderboard puts you and all your friends up against each other to see who has the highest point value. The leaderboard will also have a spot for the biggest gains over a 30-day period to see who’s gaining on the competition
- Re-arrange Pins on Home and access them Offline - Pins will now be easier to organize, and Preview members will also be able to access Pins while offline
- Updating Activity Feed - The Activity Feed has been upgraded to show you when there’s new posts to the feed. A link will show up that will take you back to the top of the page
- Joinable Twitch Broadcasts - If your friend is broadcasting his or her gameplay session, joining in on the fun will be much easier thanks to links in the game hub and on the game tile
- Improved Suggested Friends - Suggested friends will now give you a reason as to why they were suggested. It could be because they added mutual friends of yours or they are a top content creator for a game you love
- Hide games from “ready-to-instal” list - If you don’t want to see the Star Wars Battlefront Beta on your install list anymore, you can now hide it along with anything else you don’t want to see
Microsoft also has updates coming to Xbox One Preview members, as well as those using the Xbox Beta app.
- Avatar Store - the upgraded Avatar Store is built into the Xbox Avatars app, which can be found on consoles, Windows 10 PCs, and phones.
- Xbox News - Xbox News posts will begin showing up in the Activity Feed for Xbox Preview members
- Improvements to Trending - A new dedicated landing page for Trending content has been set up, and shows the most popular topics at any given time on Xbox Live.
- Compact mode for Xbox App - Xbox Beta app has moved additional functions to the compact mode, allowing users to quickly switch between friends, party, messages, and activity alerts pages.
