343 Industries announced their plans for the future of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The plans mentioned one of the biggest and greatest updates yet! The update is set for release in 2021. It will include various quality of life fixes and some major improvements.
The base work of the update will go live tomorrow. It contains some basic cosmetics and other content for the game. The update is around 26GB in size on the Microsoft Store, 22GB on Xbox, and 6GB on Steam. The latest update will include a new feature called “Chat filtration toggle”. This feature allows you to enable or disable text chat filtering from other players in-game.
Here are some of the features in the works:

In Backlog, Pending Further Discussions
- Idle System Improvements
- Split-screen on PC
Personally, I would love to see the developers implement split-screen on PC and even fix the issues playing online campaign co-op with your friends as it's very buggy and laggy to play. The addition of HDR for Halo: The Master Chief Collection would make it even better for an old franchise.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available to play on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Steam. This collection includes all the Halo franchise games until Halo 4.
