Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is joining AFK Arena as a playable character in this newest crossover. He’s not arriving alone since Yennefer of Vengerberg is also becoming part of the already expansive roster.
Both Geralt and Yennefer may be new in AFK Arena but they won’t be holding back when it comes to combat. That’s because they’ll be bringing with them everything they’ve learned in their adventures in the world of The Witcher.
Ready for Combat
Geralt uses his skills as a witcher and attacks enemies with sword strikes, like spinning whirl and a rending swipe. He can also use Signs, a form of combat magic available to witchers. He even has access to powerful potions to let him deal critical damage to enemies.
Yennefer brings her magic to the game, and she comes complete with spells that can protect her allies and annihilate her enemies. She’s very good at Frost and Thunder magic, and can send shards of ice and bolts of electricity to opponents. With Yennefer is the kestrel, her signature bird that fights alongside her.
In a statement, AFK Arena developer Don revealed that when they got the opportunity to introduce The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to the game, they knew that they had to go beyond the usual to pay tribute to a beloved series. He added that being fans of The Witcher themselves, they faced the challenge head-on of making sure that Geralt and Yennefer remain faithful to their original appearances while ensuring they fit with characters like Rosaline and Talene.
AFK Arena is a casual idle game released on Android and iOS. It offers traditional role-playing themes along with a deep and lore-filled storyline. Mixed in are highly detailed and fairy tale-esque art styles and smooth, precise gameplay.
